When you are ready to take it to the next level, the DSATX has an advanced Serial Port Interface that allows you to connect the DSATX to a serial port. Using a Acroname USB or RS232 translator (Purchased separately) the DSATX can be programmed or monitored. Settings that are programmed over the serial port stay in the memory even after power is completely disconnected from the DSATX.

The DSATX has a simple Character Command interface that put the DSATX into different modes. It also has a simple programming dialog routine to set basic configuration. The DSATX also has an advanced API for configuring a vast range of the DSATX's control routines allowing ultimate flexibility.

This is a handy little power supply for VIA ITX motherboards. It's conceptual design heavily inflected by one of Mp3Car's founders, Zip-Lock, who wanted to help make a power supply that would take care of most people’s power supply and startup/shutdown controller needs all in one unit. For users that require more power then the M1-ATX supplies there is now an M2-ATX that is capable of powering some Pentium 4 M motherboards.

The uSDC or Micro-Shut-Down-Controller is an electronically
controlled automotive power switching device. It is primarily designed
for the purpose of starting up or shutting down a personal computer
used in a motor vehicle. It interfaces with a computer motherboard’s
power switch header that would normally connect to the push-button
switch on the front of a personal computer case. The uSDC includes a
high current relay that will cut off or apply all power to the power
supply of the personal computer to prevent any substantial current draw
when the computer is not in use. The uSDC also provides a timing
mechanism that is user selectable allowing the computer to remain “on”
for an amount of time after the ignition has been turned off. The uSDC
allows the user to mount the personal computer in remote locations
(such as a trunk) and provides hands off method automating the startup
and shutdown sequence while constantly monitoring the environmental
conditions.

Note: This is for a PCB board only. User will have to provide
adequate casing, blade style automobile connectors, and wiring to
properly use this product.

Upgrade your P1900 to include a 3RD regulated (+5V) output OR it can also be used as a stand-alone +5V/15 Watt Point Of Load (POL) supply

Now you can add a 3rd regulated output to your P1900! The P5V 5 volt regulator lets you power your Mac mini or Travla case (+18.5V), Screen (+12V), AND NOW... +5V USB devices with a switched power source. The P5V can provide 3+ amps for power hungry USB devices like Audigy 2NX sound card, WiFi, and GPS devices. The P5V is a "bolt-on" upgrade that requires no soldering when installed in the P1900. It is also controlled by the DLYON control of the P1900 so that you can safely power down your USB devices when you ignition is off.

The P5V is a small (.86" x 1.5", 22cm x 39cm) board that mounts inside the P1900 to take advantage of the heat dissipation capabilites of the chassis and fan. The P5V runs quiet and cool while easily providing over 3 amps of current: plenty for both a powered USB hub plus USB devices AND a USB soundcard. The P5V contains a thermal shutdown feature which automatically activates if you attempt to draw too much current.

The P5V installs easily into the P1900 using only a phillips screwdriver. The output wires may be attached to your existing hub power cable by simply connecting two wires.

The P5V can also be used as a stand-alone Point Of Load (POL) regulator for +5V devices. For applications that require more than about 1 amp, a small heatsink will be required (16 degC/Watt). Alternatively, the P5V could be attached to an existing metal chassis (the P5V mounting tab is at ground potential) instead of using a dedicated heatsink.

Mp3Car Description: This module is designed to provide a serial port control for the DSATX. It connects directly on the DSATX power supply and allows you to do things like tweak settings and monitor performance as well as update the firmware.

Manufacture’s Description: The new BrainStem connector. This connector plugs directly into a module and offers conversion from TTL to RS-232 levels. Included are indicator LED's for host serial power and stem logic power.

The interface connector has a female four pin connector on one end. On the other end is a female DB9 connector, which can plug into your Windows serial cable, or be used with the USB 1.1 to Serial Adapter which can be used with your Mac or Windows USB hub. The CTS and RTS lines are also connected and exposed although not used by the 4-pin BrainStem connector. These can be separately wired for other uses in your application.
