Not quite ready for prime time |

After six months with a car PC in my 2006 Nissan 350Z, I gave up and tore the system out. More precisely, the Lilliput GL-701 used as a monitor gave up - the motor drive failed.
The C134 computer worked OK and for a while, I was able to enjoy GPS and music (at night - the GL-701 display is not readable during the day).
However, the C134 is too big and bulky and doesn't have any mounting provision - not even a bracket. I had to fabricate a mount.
In all, the car PC thing is not ready for prime time. Maybe 5 years from now.

I bought this PC with the in-dash screen by MP3, had them build it for me, which was awesome, and had it in my house sooner than expected. It is great for what I do on it. No overheating problems, and the graphics on mine run well. Good product for a good price.

Overall this PC works OK for in car use. However, while it is 1 DIN in height/width it is about 3 inches longer than a standard stereo so it didn't not fit in my car and you better measure yours before purchasing this item.
Also because the standard heat sink on the mother board is taller than the case you have to replace the heat sink with a custom one. Easy to do but now I have crashing issues when I run full screen graphics. I've reinstalled windows to try and stop the issue but I really think it's caused by overheating. I can't prove this though.
Next, the case is cheaply made. The power and PS2 connectors do not line up correctly.
And finally, The blue light on the front I find annoying. In the car at night it's way to bright.
I did not have my system built by MP3car but put it together myself so you may have better luck if you let them build yours.
