The Y-cable goes in between your existing power button cable/connector and the motherboard. The other end of the Y-cable extends out of the Mac mini chassis and connects to the "power button extension cable" which connects to J2 on the P1900. This gives you a way to quickly/easily disconnect your Mac if you want to remove it from your car and take it inside! This kit also includes a black momentary pushbutton making your installation even easier. Please note: the button must be soldered on to the end of the y-cable extender.
